Two water boxes and covers required protection against an aggressive seawater service environment in order to extend the expected service life.

The boxes and covers were abrasive blasted both internally and externally to achieve the required cleanliness standard before being thoroughly cleaned down to remove all dust and debris.

Corroserve recommended coating the work pieces with Corroglass 600 coating. Corroglass 600 is a high build glassflake vinyl ester lining and repair material which provides improved resistance to many chemicals and solvents, as well as increased temperature resistance.

The externals of the condenser unit were externally coated using Plasmet Zf, with a final top coat of grey enamel to the clients specification.

The application of specialist protective coatings will significantly increase the expected service life of the chemical vessel.
