Valid from: 11th July 2008

Last reviewed: July 2019

Type: An epoxy glassflake putty, intended for application and cure underwater either on its own or as part of an underwater system.

Suggested use

Plasmet UWP is designed for use either as a standalone coating or as a lining system with Plasmet UWL and Plasmet UWT. It will provide cost effective, durable protection to submerged surfaces. The system is tolerant of water and will cure while immersed. It may be used for structural steel, pilings, jetties, and other immersed structures.

Immersed Temperature limit is 113°F (45ºC).

Health & safety

Before handling or using this product the material safety data sheet should be read and all precautions observed.

Surface preparation

Metals:Corrocoat UWP is generally applied over mechanically prepared or water-blasted surfaces.

Corrocoat UWP may be applied by trowel or divers glove in a single coat.

Pot life

Generally 80-90 minutes at 68°F (20ºC). Pot life will varysignificantly with temperature.

The performance of this product will be adversely affected by the use of solvent-based thinners. Under normal applicationconditions it is not anticipated that any thinners will be required with this product.

Practical coverage rate

Approximately 16 sf per gal (0.4 m2 /litres) at 2 mm DFT.NOTE: This information is given in good faith but consumption may increase dependent upon the environmental conditions, geometry, nature of work undertaken and the skill and care of application. Corrocoat accepts no responsibility for any deviation from these values.

Storage life

2 years minimum in unopened tins, stored at 41-104°F (5-40°C).

Color availability

Dark Grey. The Base (white) and Hardener (black) should be mixed until a uniform grey color is achieved.NOTE:This product is formulated to give optimum corrosion resistance. Due to the nature of the polymerization process on this product and the speed of immersion it is not possible to guarantee color matching or color stability. Some whitening of the surface may occur during the curing process.

Recommended DFT

As required, may be applied in single coats up to 5mm for localised repairs.

Can be overcoated with UWL after 24hrs.

Cleaning solvent

For best results use Corrocoat epoxy equipment cleaner.
